Man Shot On UES Subway, Police Searching For Gunman: NYPD
The 31-year-old victim was shot in his left hand while on a train at E. 86th Street and Lexington Avenue, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A straphanger was unintentionally shot and wounded while riding the subway on the Upper East Side early Sunday, police said.
The alleged shooter engaged in an argument with another person on an uptown 4 train nearing the Lexington Avenue-86th Street station at around 2:30 a.m. when the shooting occurred, NYPD officials said.
Police have stated that the victim was not initially involved in the dispute between the two strangers. It remains uncertain whether the victim intervened.

The argument ultimately became physical and the suspect pulled out a gun and fired a round, hitting the 31-year-old victim in his left hand, police told Patch.
The suspect quickly fled the scene after opening fire and has not been identified or taken into custody, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Medics rushed the man to Cornell Hospital in stable condition, police said.
As of Monday morning, authorities described the suspect as a man with a dark complexion and tattoos on both arms.
The NYPD investigation remains ongoing, police said.
