Man Stabbed With Scissors Outside UES Subway: Police

A Sunday evening argument ended with a man getting stabbed with a pair of scissors near the East 96th Street Q train, said police.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A Sunday stabbing happened just steps from a Second Avenue subway station, police said.

At around 6 p.m., a 44-year-old man was arguing with Maria Sanchez, 29, near the East 96th Street Q train station, officials told Patch.

As the argument escalated, police said that Sanchez punched the unidentified victim in the face and stabbed him in the hand with a pair of scissors.

The victim was brought to New York-Presbyterian Hospital for his injuries, according to Upper East Site.

Police then arrested Sanchez, who has since been charged with assault with a weapon and criminal possession of a weapon, officials said.

Sanchez, a resident of Queens, does not have any prior criminal history, police told Patch.
