Muggers Break 93-Year-Old Woman's Arm For $7 On UES, Police Say

Two men are wanted for knocking a 93-year-old woman to the ground and snatching her purse.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify two men wanted for violently robbing a 93-year-old woman on the Upper East Side, police said.

The woman was on East 66th Street and 3rd Avenue around 9:07 p.m. Thursday when she was approached by the two accused muggers, police said. The men snatched her purse, knocked her to the ground and fled the scene heading east toward Second Avenue and then south toward East 65th Street, police said.

The woman suffered a fractured left arm and bruises to her head and elbow, police said. The purse contained the woman's ID, bank cards and $7 in cash, police said.

The suspects are described as men in their teens, both standing about 5-foot-8 and weighing about 135 pounds. Both men were wearing hooded sweatshirts and dark clothing, police said. Police released security camer video of the suspects walking in the vicinity of East 68 Street and Third Avenue before the robbery.
