New Madewell Location On 3rd Avenue To Open Wednesday
The much-anticipated relocation of their Madison Avenue store is finally happening.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Madewell made good on their pledge to move East.
A new sign outside the future Upper East Side of the clothier, known for their extensive denim offerings, promised an opening date of their new location on Third Avenue near East 68th Street on Wednesday, June 7.
A representative for Madewell could not confirm the sign's information when contacted by phone.

Their website lists an "opening day" party on Thursday, June 15 fro 6:30 to 8 p.m. where guests can bring in items for custom embroideries, cocktails, sweets and live music.
Since 2014, the J. Crew-owned outfitter has enjoyed a high-street perch on Madison Avenue, near 85th Street. Back in February, signs first went up at the vacant retail space, formerly a branch of British bank HSBC.

In 2019, the New York Times reported that Madewell had 132 stores nationwide, with six total in New York City.
