New Upper East Side Craft Beer Shop Boasts Dozens Of Brews On Tap
Promising a huge craft beer selection without the "beer snob" attitude, Craft + Carry is now open on Second Avenue.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Looking for a way to cool down this week as oppressive heat hits the Upper East Side? Consider the new craft beer shop now open on Second Avenue.
Craft + Carry opened in mid-July between East 84th and 85th streets, marking the seventh location for the shop, which began in Brooklyn in 2017.
Described as a "bottle shop, tap room, and craft beer curator," the store includes a wide array of canned and bottled beers, plus a long list of draft brews that customers can sip in-store.

Numbering 24 in total, the list is Craft + Carry's "most impressive draft selection ever," the store boasts. An online inventory shows everything from IPAs to sour beers to hard seltzers, plus a nonalcoholic root beer.
Most draft selections are sourced from breweries within a 150-200 mile radius, the store says.

Staff are trained to give knowledgeable, local recommendations — minus any "beer snob" attitude, owners say.
Other offerings include small and large growlers to-go, pints and beer flights in-house, and diversions like skee-ball and movie screenings.
The shop also features a new summertime collaboration with Tuckahoe-based Broken Bow Brewery, titled Past Curfew.
"Our friends at Broken Bow have done a great job collaborating with us to
brew a perfect summertime Pilsner," co-owner joshua Friedman said in a news release. The beer is described as a German-style Pilsner made from East Golding hops with a "zing of orange zest."
The East Side shop comes on the heels of an Upper West Side location, which opened this spring on Amsterdam Avenue.
Craft + Carry is open daily at 1630 2nd Ave. from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday–Wednesday, and until 2 a.m. Thursday–Saturday.
