Officers Nab Burglar Trying To Kick In Yorkville Apartment Door: NYPD
Police from the 19th Precinct say they caught a robber in the act over the weekend on East 82nd Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Officers from the 19th Precinct arrested a man they said was trying to break into a Yorkville four-story walk-up, police said.
Marquis Rivers Torres, 26, was arrested and charged with burglary, possession of burglar tools, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a controlled substance and false impersonation, officials told Patch.
On Sunday just after 1 a.m., Upper East Side officers responded to a 911 call of a man trying to break into an East 82nd Street building near East End Ave, according to officials.

When cops arrived, they found a man inside the building's vestibule trying to kick in the door, according to the 19th Precinct. The man then tried to give officers a false name, police said.
According to to a Tweet from the 19th Precinct, officers were already aquatinted with Torres.
