Police Nab Upper East Side Puncher Six Months Later: NYPD

Officials said the suspect has an "unfortunate penchant for randomly attacking seniors," and was in custody for another elder assault.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Six months after a man was punched in the chest in Yorkville, police say they've arrested and charged the person behind the assault.

Christopher Stewart, 37, was arrested and charged with assault by officers from the 19th Precinct on Thursday, officials said.

Last November, police claim that Stewart punched a 73-year-old man near East 81st Street and Third Avenue square in the chest as they walked past each other.

"A career criminal, with an unfortunate penchant for randomly attacking seniors — arrested again!" reads a post from the 19th Precinct.

The Tweet from the 19th Precinct goes on to say that Stewart was already in custody for also assaulting a 74-year-old man.
