Police Search For Robber In UES Nail Salon Stickup: NYPD

The thief also stole a car from a man downtown the next day, officials said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man who robbed an Upper East Side nail salon of over $1,000 went on to steal a car from a man downtown the next day, according to authorities.

On Jan. 11, at just after 10:15 a.m., a man entered Miss Nail Salon at 1185 Lexington Ave. and proceeded to take $1,100 out of the salon's register, according to police.

Officials said the man then fled downtown on Third Avenue towards East 80th Street.

The next day, the same man approached a 31-year-old livery driver downtown at East 15th Street and Third Avenue as he was dropping off a passenger, according to police.

As the passenger left, the unidentified robber simulated a weapon towards the driver as he demanded the keys to his car, officials said.

The man took off with the victim's 2020 Toyota westbound on East 15th Street, police said.

Surveillance video surrounding the two incidents was also released.

Police claim the man is about six feet tall, wearing a black jacket, black pants and a grey knit ski hat.
