Roosevelt Island Man Arrested With Guns, Ammo, Sword: Police
Police searching a man's Roosevelt Island apartment said they found a large cache of weapons, including a rifle, crossbow, daggers and more.

ROOSEVELT ISLAND, NY — A Roosevelt Island man has been arrested after police searched his apartment and turned up a large cache of weapons, including a sawed-off rifle, crossbow, samurai sword and ammunition.
The search began around 7 a.m. Thursday, when police entered the apartment of 30-year-old Danny Hernandez at 425 Main St. — part of the Riverwalk Landing building.
Police said they were executing a search warrant pursuant to an investigation, but did not elaborate.

The alleged trove they found consisted of:
- Loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson firearn
- Sawed-off, defaced Remington rifle
- Crossbow
- Blow-dart gun
- Two daggers
- Roman Gladius scabbard
- Metal sai (Japanese blade-like weapon)
- Katana samurai sword
- Ammunition
- Knife
Hernandez was arrested and charged with nine counts of criminal possession of a weapon, among other offenses, police said.
