UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A pair of thieves wanted for stealing thousands of dollars worth of apparel from an Upper East Side store last week have been caught by police, authorities said.

The men entered the storefront at 814 Madison Avenue, near 68th Street, Thursday around 11:25 a.m., and started taking jackets off the store displays, according to officials.

According to an NYPD spokesperson, the thieves made off with a total of eight jackets from the store, valued at over $11,000.

NYPD officials said that the two suspects who were arrested and charged—24-year-old Donovald Pierre and 28-year-old Jaquan McCrae, both of Brooklyn—were apprehended at the City Hall subway station with assistance from the Real Time Task Force Unit.

Court records show that Pierre pleaded not guilty and was released without bail, while McCrae similarly pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance.

They are set to appear back in court on June 26 and July 1, respectively.
