Sleeping Man Robbed On Upper East Side Train, Police Say

The robbers used the man's credit cards at an Upper East Side pharmacy and a downtown 7-Eleven.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify two men who robbed a sleeping subway passenger on the Upper East Side, police said.

A 26-year-old man boarded an uptown Q train at the 32nd Street and Prospect Park subway station in Brooklyn during the early morning hours of Sunday, April 22, police said. The man fell asleep during the train ride and woke up inside the East 72nd Street and Second Avenue station to find that he had been robbed of his wallet, police said.

Two men were later spotted using the man's stolen credit card at a drugstore located on Third Avenue and East 67th Street and a 7-Eleven in Greenwich Village, police said. The suspects are both described as men in their 20s, police said. One man stands 5-foot-8 and weighs about 165 pounds and the other stands 5-foot-10 and weighs about 175 pounds, police said.

Police released photos of the suspects (seen above) that were taken inside the Upper East Side drugstore.
