The 2nd Avenue Community Benefit Festival will be held Saturday, May 12.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual 2nd Avenue Community Benefit Festival this Saturday on the Upper East Side.

The festival, which offers neighborhood businesses the opportunity to market their wares on the street, will result in a long stretch of Second Avenue being shut off to traffic, police said. The festival is expected to run from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

The 2nd Avenue Community Benefit Festival will stretch from East 66th to 86th streets, according to the NYPD's weekend traffic advisory.

The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce has organized the festival since 1993, making it one of New York City's longest-running street fairs. The chamber also organizes a similar festival — the 3rd Avenue Community benefit Festival — in September.

The chamber expects thousands of people to attend this weekend's fair and proceeds are donated to local nonprofit organizations, according to the Chamber of Commerce's website.
