Teen Arrested For Attacking Firefighter On UES, Police Say
The firefighter suffered a concussion and broken teeth after trying to prevent a group of teens from harassing an elderly couple.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A 17-year-old is facing charges for attacking an off-duty firefighter who intervened when a group of teenagers harassed an elderly couple on the Upper East Side, police said.
The teenager was arrested Wednesday and charged as an adult with second-degree assault, a felony, police said.
The 38-year-old firefighter attempted to aid the elderly couple on East 86th Street between Second and Third avenues on Saturday night when he was punched and pushed to the ground, police said. The man was "continuously" hit in the body while on the ground, police said.

EMS took the man to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center where he was treated for a concussion and broken teeth, police said.
Police said the group of teenagers was made up of three boys and three girls between the ages of 15 and 17.
