UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A suspect has been taken into custody after a 17-year-old boy was slashed in the face inside a Upper East Side subway station on Wednesday.
The incident happened on the Q train platform at the 96th Street station around 3 p.m., police said.
The victim apparently got into an argument with the suspect before he was slashed in the side of his face.

The 17-year-old was transported to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center for treatment.
The suspect fled the scene on a Q train and was taken into custody by officers at 42nd Street, according to police and a PIX11 report.

The man taken into custody is believed to be 18-years-old.
Charges are pending as of Thursday evening.
