Thief Steals Coats And Statue Worth $44K From Manhattan Stores, Police Says
Police say they are looking for a thief with expensive taste who stole two coats and a statue worth nearly $44,000.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police are searching for an unidentified man who they say has stolen goods worth nearly $44,000 from luxury stores in Manhattan.
The man, who police believe to be between 50 and 60 years old, has stolen two high-end coats and a statue between January and June of this year, the NYPD said in a statement. The man starting his stealing spree in January by taking a shearling coat worth $4,530 from a Jill Sanders boutique on the Upper East Side, according to police. In March, he nabbed a fur coat worth $37,000 from the Madison Avenue fashion boutique Fendi before fleeing, authorities said. And on June 26, he took a decorative statue from Daum Jewelry on Park Avenue in Midtown before leaving the store, the NYPD said in a statement. The statue is estimated to be worth at least $2,400.
