UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police have found the discarded Tyvek suit they say the still at-large shooter wore when an Upper East Side bodega worker was killed last week, according to reports.

On Tuesday, police found the hazmat suit behind a Park Avenue building in Concourse Village in the Bronx, the Daily News reported.

NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig told the Daily News that video footage taken after the shooting of Sueng Choi, 67, on Friday allowed them to track the suit's location — just steps from the deli police say the man robbed not even a half hour after shooting Choi.

“He is seen going in there, into the rear of it ... on that scooter,” Essig said to the Daily News, “and when we went to the back we found that Tyvek suit.”

Essig told the Daily News that the suit is still being processed for DNA and fingerprints.

Last week's fatal shooting, which police said was a robbery gone wrong, shocked the neighborhood and spurred calls from the Mayor and advocates for shoppers to remove their masks for identification and surveillance purposes when entering shops.

When Patch reporters asked bodega workers in the Upper East Side and in Brooklyn what they thought of the idea on Wednesday, most were unaware of the announcement and said while they'd prefer to see people's faces, they wouldn't start asking customers to remove their masks.

Police are currently offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect, while the United Bodegas of America are offering an additional $5,000.
