UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — For the last 20 years, Kings Pharmacy has served Yorkville residents.

But at the end of the month, the small Big Apple chain at the base of Ruppert Towers will close its doors due to their landlord demanding a massive increase in rent, according to Upper East Site.

A manager told the local news website that the company who manages the building at 1619 Third Avenue is doubling the rent, a price that according to the manager has forced the small local pharmacy to close.
