UES Library To Reopen After 9-Month Renovation
The East 67th Street New York Public Library branch will reopen Nov. 25 after a project to install new HVAC systems in the building.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side branch of the New York Public Library is set to reopen following a nine-month renovation project, library officials announced in a letter to branch visitors.
The East 67th Street Library, located between First and Second avenues, will open its doors on Monday, Nov. 25, library officials said. The facility closed in March to undergo the installation of new HVAC systems. Library officials had initially planned for a summer reopening.
"This important project—which will ensure that 67th Street Library can best serve New Yorkers now and in the future and is part of a significant investment in the branches by New York City and The New York Public Library system," library officials wrote in an letter sent to branch visitors in February.

In addition to the new HVAC systems, the renovated library will feature a new roof and restored wooden floors and ceilings throughout the building, library officials said.
Funding for the library renovation was allocated by City Councilman Ben Kallos and Mayor Bill de Blasio, library officials said.

"The Library would like to thank all of our patrons for their support and understanding during the construction and we look forward to seeing you soon!" library officials wrote in a recent letter.
