UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A scofflaw with expired plates, no driver's license and over $3,000 in unpaid violations was given a complimentary tow to the impound lot by the city sheriff and the 19th Precinct, according to officials.

On Wednesday at around 3:15 p.m., officers from the 19th Precinct saw a white Chevy Malibu with an expired registration on a rear Louisiana license plate drive past them near Lexington Avenue and East 67th Street, officials said.

After pulling over the Chevy, officers discovered a number of oddities with the "Big Easy" Malibu, police said, namely that behind the wheel was an unlicensed driver with over $3,000 in unpaid violations — including nearly 20 school zone speed camera violations since 2020, according to public records aggregated by How's My Driving.
