UES Shooting Leaves Man Wounded: NYPD

A young man was shot in the chest on the Upper East Side Wednesday, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man was shot in the chest on the Upper East Side Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The shooting took place about 1:15 p.m. at the Stanley Isaacs Houses on First Avenue and East 93rd Street, NYPD officials said.

A 20-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the upper left part of his chest by officers who responded to a 911 call, officials said.

Medics rushed the young man to New York Presbyterian in stable condition, police said.

An NYPD spokesperson said there was no suspect description or any other details about the shooting as of Thursday morning, and added that the investigation remains ongoing.
