UES Strawberry Festival Set For Local Church Street: What To Know

Brick Church will shut down a stretch of 92nd Street on Sunday for its annual Strawberry Festival and picnic.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY —A day of family fun and strawberries will take place this weekend on the Upper East Side.

The annual Brick Church Strawberry Festival is set for 12:15 p.m. on Sunday outside of the holy building at 62 E. 92nd St., between Park and Madison avenues.

The church shuts down a stretch of 92nd Street for the festival that runs until 1:30 p.m.

There will be live music, food, and activities for kids.

A service will take place directly before the festival, and if it rains, the event will be moved into the Watson Hall inside the church.

Balloons for the festival will be provided by the Craft Studio location on the Upper East Side.

The event is free to attend.

The Brick Church, which serves as home to a large presbyterian congregation, opened on the Upper East Side in 1940. Its original location opened in Lower Manhattan in 1768.

Along with services, it has schools for children grades five through 12, an acclaimed choir, and fellowship and volunteer opportunities.

Longtime Upper East Side Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney is a member of the congregation that's also included notable names such as Louise Whitfield Carnegie, wife of Andrew Carnegie, and former U.S. Secretary of State John Foster Dulles.
