UES Subway Robber Snatches Teen's Phone, Orders Him Onto Train: Police
A teen was forced onto a train after handing over his belongings at knifepoint on an Upper East Side subway platform, according to police.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man robbed a teenager at knifepoint on an Upper East Side subway platform, then ordered the young man to get on a train and fled, according to police.
The 18-year-old was targeted on the downtown platform of the 68th Street-Hunter College 6 train station just before 12:30 a.m. on July 25, police said.
The suspect walked up, flashed a knife and demanded the teen hand over his cell phone, watch, headphones and a wallet containing his bank card and personal IDs, police said.

Police shared surveillance video that shows the 18-year-old sitting on a bench and speaking to the suspect, who is standing nearby.
As a 6 train pulled into the station, the man told the teenager to get onboard, police said.

The suspect stayed on the platform then ran away, police said.
Police described the suspect as a man in his 40s about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 190 pounds, with a thin build and black hair.
He was last seen wearing a multicolored bucket hat, a blue T-shirt, black shorts and black sneakers, and was carrying a black bag and a black long-sleeve shirt, police said.
