On Aug. 20, Edwards allegedly approached the 52-year-old victim from behind as he stood on the northbound 6 train platform and, without any apparent provocation, stabbed him in the neck, officials said.

The victim sought help from a Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) employee before being transported to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, according to officials, where he received stitches.

Edwards was arrested two days later at the 125th Street and Lexington Avenue 4/5/6 subway station, after police recognized him from a wanted flyer.

"We will continue to hold people accountable who commit harmful and illegal conduct in our stations and on our subways," Bragg said, wishing the victim a speedy recovery.
