Upper East Side Bank Robbery: Police Seek Suspect
Police asked for help finding a man accused of stealing hundreds in cash from an UES bank this week by passing a threatening note.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man stole hundreds in cash from an Upper East Side bank branch this week by passing a note to a teller, according to police, who released photos and video of the suspect on Thursday.
The robbery happened at the Apple Bank on First Avenue between East 64th and 65th streets, where the unidentified man walked in just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.
He approached a bank teller and passed a note demanding cash, police said. The teller complied, handed over about $380, and the man left the bank and began walking north along First Avenue, police said.

No one was hurt, according to police.
Police shared photos of the man and a surveillance video showing him walking down the sidewalk near the bank branch.

He is described as around 30 years old and 5 feet 10 inches tall, last seen wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans, white-and-blue sneakers and a black hat, carrying a black bag.
