Upper East Side COVID Booster Clinics To Offer Free Shots
An Upper East Side lawmaker is partnering with a pharmacy to give out the COVID-19 booster vaccine to eligible residents. Here's the info.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Upper East Siders who are eligible for the new COVID-19 booster vaccine won't need to travel far for their shots if they sign up for one of the free clinics being organized this month by a local lawmaker.
The first two clinics will be held on Friday, Oct. 8 and Tuesday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the district office of Assemblymember Rebecca Seawright (1485 York Ave., near East 79th Street). Appointments are also available for a third day: Oct. 19, between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Seawright set up the clinics in partnership with nearby Drug Mart Pharmacy, which will administer doses of the Pfizer booster and the Moderna third shot to eligible residents. Those eligible for the Pfizer booster are ages 65 and over; people between 18 and 64 who have an underlying medical condition or job-related exposure risks; or people living in nursing homes and long-term care facilities. The Moderna shot, meanwhile, is available for immunocompromised people.

People may only get the Pfizer booster shot if they got their second dose at least six months ago. The Moderna dose must be given at least 28 days after the second shot.
