Upper East Side Fire Breaks Out In High-Rise Building, FDNY Says

Nobody was injured during the fire.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A fire broke out in an Upper East side high-rise building Thursday afternoon, an FDNY spokesman said.

The fire started in a 10th floor apartment of 201 E. 66th St. — a 20-story co-op building located near the corner of Third Avenue — around 12:15 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. Firefighters responded to the scene and had the flames under control nearly 30 minutes later.

Nobody was injured during the fire, an FDNY spokesman said.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but will be investigated by the city fire marshals.
