Upper East Side Man Arrested For Glass Bottle Pummel: NYPD

A man was charged with attempted murder for repeatedly beating a man with a glass bottle downtown on Sunday.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after beating a man in the head with a glass bottle multiple times, police said.

The man, identified by officials as Upper East Side resident Jounathan Maimon, 24, was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief.

On Sunday at about 3:15 a.m., a 42-year-old man walking near Lafayette and Prince Streets was approached by Maimon, police said.

Maimon then smashed a glass bottle against the victim's head multiple times, police claim, and fled on foot down Prince Street.

The unidentified victim was brought to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

Police at the time released images and a video of the suspect walking along the street with what appears to be a 1.75 liter glass alcohol bottle.
