Upper East Side Man Kills Self With Cop Wife's Gun, Report Says
The man was found suffering a gunshot wound Sunday by his wife in their Park Avenue apartment.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A retired United States marine killed himself using his police officer wife's service weapon in their Upper East Side apartment, according to reports.
The 50-year-old man was found Sunday around 4 p.m. after his wife returned to their Park Avenue apartment from a swimming class with the couple's baby, police sources told the New York Post. The man was found suffering a gunshot wound to the head and was rushed to the hospital before being pronounced dead, according to the report.
A 9mm pistol was by the man's side when he was found, the Post reported. The gun belonged to his wife, a White Plains police officer, and was her service weapon, according to the report.

Police sources told the Post that the man suffered from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder related to his military service. The man previously expressed suicidal thoughts to friends and his wife, according to the report.
