Upper East Side Vet Clinic To Open 2nd Neighborhood Location

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The self-described "new breed of vet clinics" is expanding on the Upper East Side, as Bond Vet plans a second location on Third Avenue and East 86th Street.

The new clinic, opening June 14, joins Bond's existing location about a mile south on Third Avenue and East 62nd Street — plus 11 other shops already open or opening soon around the city.

Aiming to fill a niche between primary and emergency care, Bond Vet is open 365 days a year, pledging to see pets in a timely manner in order to accommodate common urgent-care ailments like gastrointestinal issues and wounds.

Bond Vet models itself on CityMD, the New York Times reported last year, and has raised upwards of $17 million as it plots expansions and rides a wave of demand for upscale pet-health services.

As a promotion, the new location — at 1535 Third Ave. — will offer $25 exams to first-time visitors. Appointments can be booked by phone or via walk-in, with both in-person and telehealth screenings offered.

"We pioneered the concept of urgent care in New York, and we’ve seen great traction — we’re clearly filling a need for modern pets and pet parents," Mo Punjani, the company's co-founder and CEO, said in a news release. "Our newest location makes timely vet care even more accessible to uptown residents."

The start-up also touts its tech-savviness, with an app that allows for texting and scheduling, and paperless medical records.

The new 86th Street location will be open daily, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
