Wednesday Night Upper East Side Jazz In Carl Schurz Park
The Daniel Bennett Group plays a special CD release concert at the Summer Sounds Concert Series at Carl Schurz Park on July 12 at 7pm.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A heralded contemporary jazz voice brings his saxophone and his band to Carl Schurz Park Wednesday night.
The Daniel Bennett Group will be performing a free show to celebrate the release of their ninth studio album, "New York Nerve."
Bennett's music has been called "original," and "unpredictable," with the Boston Globe describing his sound as "a mix of Jazz, Folk and Minimalism," and was recently voted as "Best New Jazz" in NYC Hot House Magazine.

Wednesday's night group joining Bennett includes master percussionist and keys player Koko Bermejo and acclaimed bassist Kevin Hailey.
The bandleader is also the associate director of the New York Jazz Academy in Times Square and has spent years jamming and performing with his group across the clubs in Greenwich Village, including Smalls, Mezzrow, Blue Note, Village Vanguard, 55 Ba and others, according to TimeOut New York.

The show begins at 7 p.m. on the John Finley Walk, above the East 86th Street mall staircase.
