Wife Of NY Rangers Legend Involved In UES Bar Brawl, Report Says

Mary Beth Leetch, the wife of Brian Leetch, got into a fight with staff members of Brandy's Piano Bar on East 84th Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The wife of a New York Rangers legend is in some legal trouble after being accused of going berserk on two staff members at a popular Upper East Side bar, according to reports.

Mary Beth Leetch, 49, and her sister Tracy Murphy, 44, are being sued in Manhattan Supreme Court by a bartender at Brandy's Piano Bar on East 84th Street between Second and Third avenues, the New York Post first reported.

The sisters were listening to music at the bar — known for its Broadway musical singalongs — when they got into a scuffle with bartender Greg Goodbrod and waitress Maria Gentile after being told to leave, the Post reported. Leetch and Murphy, who were joined by one other companion, also refused to pay their $33 bar tab, according to the report.

During the ruckus Gentile's suffered shoulder injuries and a cut on her hand and Goodbrod suffered a head wound that required seven staples to heal, the Post reported.

"It doesn’t matter who you think you are, you can not come in to New York City and assault somebody. We won’t stand for it," J.P. Delaney, the lawyer representing Goodbrod and Gentile, told the Post.

But lawyers for Leetch and Murphy tell a different tale. Attorney Joe Mure told the Post that the two women felt unwelcome for not ordering drinks immediately after entering the bar and that they too suffered bruises.

Leetch and Murphy were both charged with assault and harassment and released before arraignment, police told the Post.
