The 64-year-old woman was killed after entering East 91st Street behind an SUV that was going in reverse.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A woman was hit and killed by an SUV attempting to back into a parking lot Tuesday night on the Upper East Side, police said.
First responders arrived at a building on East 91st Street between Park and Lexington avenues around 9:20 p.m. to find 64-year-old Mei Zhuan lying in the road suffering head trauma, police said. EMS rushed the woman to Lenox Hill hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The NYPD's collision investigation squad determined that Zhuan entered the street behind an Audi SUV that was trying to back into a parking spot. As the SUV traveled in reverse, it struck Zhuan, which caused her to fall to the ground, police said.
