UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A woman was sucker punched in the face by a stranger in an unprovoked attack on the Upper East Side, police said.

Officers responded to a call of an assault in front of 1233 Lexington Avenue, near E. 83rd Street, on May 7 at about 12:50 p.m., officials said.

Responding cops found a 69-year-old woman who told them that her attacker had run away after punching her in the face for no apparent reason, police said.

The victim, who told EMS she was in pain, was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital for bruises and swelling, police said.

Her attacker was described as bald and was last seen wearing glasses, a backpack, a gray hoodie, blue pants and black sneakers.

Cops released surveillance footage of the suspect Tuesday morning, asking for the public’s help identifying him and tracking him down.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
