Woman Robbed At Gunpoint At Upper East Side Bus Stop, Police Say

The woman was waiting for the bus at East 68th Street and Second Avenue when she was threatened with a gun.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted for robbing a woman at gunpoint while she waited for a bus on the Upper East Side, police said.

The 58-year-old woman was standing on Second Avenue near East 68th Street shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday night when an unknown man approached her, police said. The man pulled out a gun and forcibly took her cellphone, police said.

After the man grabbed the phone, he fled the scene of the robbery heading south down Second Avenue, police said.

The woman was not harmed during the robbery, police said.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s standing about 5-foot-10 and weighing 170 pounds, police said. The man has a slim build, black hair and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black shoes and dark colored shorts. The NYPD released a photo of the suspect (seen above) captured on a security camera.
