UES Ice Cream Speakeasy Worker Punched, $10 Tips Stolen: NYPD

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An ice-cold thief punched an ice cream speakeasy worker in the face over the weekend and ran off with his tip jar, according to police.

The pint-sized theft happened at UES, the ice cream parlor and speakeasy lounge on Second Avenue between East 88th and 89th streets, on Saturday just before 10 p.m., according to officials.

The thief stole a tip jar with $10 inside it and then punched a 40-year-old worker in the face before leaving the store, according to the NYPD, and then fled south on Second Avenue.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing, officials added.

In 2021, an unknown man repeatedly groped a female employee at the same shop, according to police reports at the time.
