Armed Bicycle Thieves Steal Wheels On Upper West Side, Cops Say

Two cyclists were robbed at gunpoint near Riverside Park on the UWS this month, according to the NYPD.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Armed bicycle thieves have stolen two sets of wheels on the Upper West Side this month, according to police.

The two stick-ups saw cyclists robbed of their bikes near Riverside Park within a three-day span, police said.

The first cyclist, a 24-year-old man, was robbed of his bike and phone by three people with guns near West End Avenue and West 63rd Street on March 16 about 2 p.m., police said.

On March 19 about 2:45 p.m., two people flashed a gun at a 35-year-old man on Riverside Boulevard near West 62nd Street, police said.

The duo then snatched the man's bike and fled toward Riverside, police said.
