2 Stabbed At Popular UWS Dive Bar, NYPD Says

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — One man is facing charges in connection with a double stabbing that occurred early Tuesday morning outside a popular Upper West Side bar, police said.

A 41-year-old man stabbed two other men during a fight outside Dive 75 on West 75th Street and Columbus Avenue around 1:30 a.m., an NYPD spokeswoman said. The man was arrested and is expected to face charges, according to the report.

Police recovered a knife from the scene of the stabbing, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

A 63-year-old man suffered stab wounds to the left hand and left leg and a 35-year-old male suffered stab wounds to the torso, right hand and buttocks, police said. Both men were treated in stable condition at Weill Cornell Medical Center, police said.

The Upper West Side has seen fewer assaults — felony and misdemeanor — so far in 2019 compared to 2018. Seven felony assaults were reported in the NYPD's 20th Precinct, which spans the lower half of the neighborhood, before Tuesday morning's fight. At this point of time last year the precinct had reported 15 felony assaults, according to the precinct's crime statistics.
