$26M UWS Townhouse Sets Neighborhood Sales Record: Report
The recently purchased Upper West Side townhouse near West 85th Street has six floors, six bedrooms, and nine bathrooms.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Upper West Side has a new townhouse sales record after a mystery buyer purchased a six-floor home in the neighborhood for $26 million, reported the New York Post.
The limestone and brick building is at 248 Central Park West, in between West 84th and 85th streets.

Sources told the Post that a "New York family" were the buyers, who actually got the home for $4 million under its original $30 million asking price.

It is the most money ever spent for a townhouse on the Upper West Side.
The townhouse was built in 1887 by developer William Noble and is one of only three remaining single-family homes on all of Central Park West.

It has six stories, six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and is 9,151 square feet, according to a listing for the townhouse.
The home comes with a landscaped outdoor garden, a roof deck overlooking Central Park, an elevator, five fireplaces, four Juliette balconies, and a fully renovated wellness center on the bottom floor with a heated lap pool, jacuzzi, and steam shower.
If that is not enough, there is a limestone fountain in the garden inspired by Central Park's Bethesda Foundation, adds the listing.
