82-Year-Old Woman Robbed While Watching Movie At UWS AMC Theater

An 82-year-old woman was watching a movie at the AMC Theater on 68th Street when a group ripped her bag away and fled, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A woman in her eighties was watching a film at the AMC Movie Theater on Broadway and West 68th Street recently when a group grabbed her bag and ripped it out of her hand, the New York Police Department said.

Three people entered the theater the 82-year-old was watching a movie in, and proceeded to grab the woman's bag, police said.

A struggle ensued where the woman tried her best to hang on. The individuals eventually ripped the bag out of her hands, which contained credit cards and a cellphone, police said.

The group ran off, and the woman was not injured in the struggle.

The robbery took place on Oct. 3, but police announced details and sent out pictures of the trio wanted in connection over the weekend.
