The attack Thursday morning comes a little over a week after former Upper West Side City Council candidate Maria Danzilo says she was punched in the arm while walking her dog near West 81st Street in Central Park.

An NYPD spokesperson confirmed a woman, 66, was attacked around 2:25 p.m. on Marcy 29 at the place detailed by Danzilo. They said the woman was not injured and the man headed toward Belvedere Castle.

"I am shaken to the core," she tweeted the following day.
