Cold Bone Broth On Tap: Latest Food Tempting Upper West Siders

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — You've heard of beer on tap. Now try bone broth on tap.

Brodo, which has been dishing out specialty hot and cold bone broths in Lower Manhattan, opened its new Upper West Side location on Friday. The new spot is located on the corner of West 75th Street and Broadway and is the first Brodo store to feature a tap system.

Upper West Side customers can get either hot or cold broths poured from the tap into reusable glass jars and come back for discounts on refills, a spokesperson for the company said. The new location also offers its broths for on-the-go consumption in paper cups with the option for add-ins such as coconut oil, grass-fed butter, freshly grated turmeric and roasted garlic.

All of Brodo's broths are made with organic meat and whole organic vegetables in small batches simmered for up to 24 hours, according to a company spokesperson. Some signature flavors include Tom Yum, made with chicken broth, chili oil, coconut milk, lime and a curry spice blend, and Sipping Beauty, made with hearth broth, fresh parsley and a lemon wedge.

"Enough great people asked us when we would open on the Upper West Side, so we decided to set up shop," Brodo owner Marco Canora said. "We're excited to join another iconic New York City neighborhood, on Broadway, no less, and hope to bring back an old-time sense of community. Locals have been telling us how much they've been looking forward to the opening, so it's already been a warm welcome."

Brodo's three other brick-and-mortar spots are located in the East Village, West Village and SoHo.
