UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A Domino's pizza deliveryman played vigilante on the Upper West Side by helping cops catch a robbery suspect with a long list of prior arrests, a neighborhood precinct commanded said.
Police officers from the NYPD's 20th Precinct were chasing after a man accused of robbing a woman's air pods on the night of March 29 near West 72nd street and Broadway when the deliveryman spotted the chase and lent cops a helping hand, according to a post on the precinct's Facebook page.
The deliveryman with a flair for the dramatic yelled "I'll stop him officers!" and pedaled his bike in front of the suspect, police said. The diversion forced the suspect to slow down just enough so that pursuing officers could catch and arrest him, police said. The woman who had her air pods stolen was driven to the scene and identified the robber.
