Here Are The 7 UWS Private Schools Named Among 100 Best In NYC

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Seven Upper West Side schools have been named among the best private schools in the New York City area.

The seven schools landed in the top 100 of Niche's rankings of the area's best private schools for 2022, which was released this week.

"Our 2022 rankings come at a time when so many parents are curious about the different options for their children's education, including some they may never have considered before," Niche CEO Luke Skurman said. Trinity School, at 139 West 91st Street between Amsterdam and Columbus, was named by the rankings as the best private school in the city.

Here are all seven of the Upper West Side private schools that earned a spot on the top 100 list:

• Trinity School: Rank - 1
• Collegiate School: Rank - 6
• Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School: Rank - 31
• Dwight School: Rank - 34
• The Calhoun School: Rank - 49
• Professional Children's School: Rank - 53
• York Prep School: Rank - 58

The Best Private High Schools ranking is "based on rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents," including SAT and ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, private school ratings and more.

4. Horace Mann School
5. Regis High School
6. Collegiate School
7. Rye Country Day School
8. Dalton School
9. The Pingry School (NYC area but in New Jersey)
