Janet Jackson Selling UWS Home On Central Park West For $9M

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Janet Jackson is taking her talents off the Upper West Side.

The longtime pop star and famous family member has decided to sell her apartment at 1 Central Park West, which she just listed for $8,955,000, the Wall Street Journal first reported.

The address is located between 60th and 61st street. It is also part of the Trump International Hotel.

Jackson has owned the apartment for almost 25 years, buying it in 1998 for $2.8 million, according to multiple reports.

A spokesperson for Jackson told the Wall Street Journal that she hasn't been in the apartment since before the COVID pandemic.

“Whenever entering my apartment of 25 years, I always treasured my home’s wonderful location and the breathtaking views that capture the magic and excitement of New York,” Jackson said in a statement to the publication. “Stepping through its threshold instantly made me feel so tranquil and at peace — so many memories.”

The condo has three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a marble bath, a library, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a view of the city and Central Park.

The building also has a gym, swimming pool, spa, 24-hour room service from the celebrated French restaurant Jean-Georges located on the ground floor, and valet parking, according to a listing for the apartment.

"This residence is truly a retreat high above the bustling pace of the city," reads the listing. "One Central Park West is an elegant Condominium in the most desirable West side location."

The estimated monthly mortgage is $44,353.
