UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An Upper West Side Italian wine bar has sliced its last salumi and poured its last glass of chianti.

Regional, which has served customers at West 98th Street and Broadway since 2006, offered its last supper on Sunday.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Regional Wine Bar and Restaurant on Sunday, May 28th," Regional wrote on its website. "Over the years, you have become more than just patrons to us; you have become an integral part of our restaurant family."

Dario and Pierpaolo, the owners of Regional, opened the restaurant nearly 20 years ago after the success of their other eateries La Giara and La Gioconda.
