Machiavelli Restaurant Closes After 6 Years On Upper West Side
The Italian restaurant was feared to close in late 2017 but managed to stay open. This time it's closing for good.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — After surviving a brief scare in late 2017, the Upper West Side Italian restaurant Machiavelli is now closing for good, its owners announced on its website.
The lavishly-decorated Columbus Avenue eatery closed after six years in business, its owners said.
"We would like to thank you all for your warm, welcoming and enduring support throughout years and your generous outpouring this past week. It has been our pleasure to serve this community through offering a unique sanctuary for classic Italian cuisine and live music," owners said in a statement posted to the restaurant's website.

"Thank you for the memories."
Machiavelli's owners announced that the restaurant would close in October of 2017, but were able to work out an agreement with their landlord to stay, the West Side Rag first reported. After more than half-a-year the cost of keeping the business open proved too great.
