71-Year-Old Man Hospitalized After Daytime Shooting On UWS: NYPD

A man was shot in the leg around 3:45 p.m. Thursday near Broadway and West 71st Street, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A 71-year-old man was shot in the leg on the Upper West Side Thursday near Broadway and West 71st Street, police said.

The shooting took place around 3:45 p.m., police said.

The man was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in stable condition.

Police said they are looking for three suspects.

At this time, police did not provide added information on what led to the shooting.

The street is only one block away from the West 72nd Street subway station, and it is one of the busier pedestrian areas in the neighborhood.
