Man Robs UWS Duane Reade At Gunpoint, Police Say

The man stole $150 of cold medicine from the Upper West Side pharmacy.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted for robbing an Upper West Side pharmacy at gunpoint, police said.

The robber entered the Duane Reade on Broadway and West 63rd Street on Saturday night and place a large amount of cold medicine into a shopping basket, police said. When an employee attempted to stop the man from leaving the store without paying, the man threatened him with a silver handgun, police said.

Nobody was injured during the robbery, police said. The robber left the store with cold medicine valued at $150.

Police describe the suspect as a man in his 20s or 30s with a light complexion who was last seen wearing a black shirt with a Westside Market logo on the front, shorts, black sunglasses and a black backpack.
