Man Fires Gun In UWS Apartment Building, Police Say

Nobody was injured during the shooting, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted on reckless endangerment charges for opening fire inside an Upper West Side public housing building, police said.

The man entered a Frederick Douglass Houses building on Columbus Avenue near West 104th Street Friday night, fired one shot and then fled the scene, police said. Nobody was injured and no property damage was suffered during the shooting, police said.

The NYPD said the shooter's target was unclear.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a gray sweat suit, white shirt and a gray du-rag, police said.
