Man Slashed With Bottle On UWS Train For Playing Music, NYPD Says
The 61-year-old victim refused to stop playing his harmonica before another passenger hit him with a broken bottle.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was assaulted early Wednesday morning on a train passing through the Upper West Side when he refused a request to stop playing music, an NYPD spokesman said.
The 61-year-old victim was riding a southbound 2 train that was passing the Wests 86th Street and Broadway station around 4:50 a.m. when he was hit over the head with a broken bottle by an unknown man, police said. The attacker had asked the man to stop playing his harmonica, but the victim refused and a dispute ensued, police said.
When the train stopped at West 72nd Street, EMS aided the victim and transported him to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.

The suspect fled the scene and has not been released, police said. Police could not offer identifying details about the suspect.
